François Rousseau's Men in Motion, The Art and Passion of the Male Dancer

If you have ever visited a theater in order to enjoy a dance recital, whether it is classic ballet, modern dance or a Broadway musical, you know it is a breathtaking performance, executed with so much passion and detail that your eyes can hardly register all. Now, French photographer François Rousseau gives us exclusive access to this wonderful world of dance with his latest photo book Men In Motion: The Art And Passion Of The Male Dancer.

Francois Rousseau followed more than 60 dancers from across the globe for this new master piece. He photographed members of the New York City Ballet and the Opera de Paris, as well as contemporary dance groups such as Alvan Ailey and Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane. He also captured the moves and passions of dancers that practice the disciplines of Broadway, hip hop, acrobatic dance and folk, and spotlighted all both on and offstage. And when he immortalizes these artists, François captures an innate eroticism and outstanding beauty of their bodies, that once again proofs that the male physique truly is a work of art.

After spending 10 years as a painter, François Rousseau started photography in 1995. Over the past years he has gained international fame with his work, that includes a high number of qualitative book publications such as Amor Causa, Ora, Male Nudes, Princes of the Sea and of course the famous Locker Room Nudes, celebrating his cooperation with the French Rugby team for the probably most famous Dieux Du Stade calendar. Rousseau is also a highly sought after commercial photographer, including work for L’Oreal, Lacoste and Levi’s as well as campaigns for Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet and the multiple award winning TV series The Tudors. –B-

Boyzone's Stephen Gately Dies at 33

BOYZONE FOREMAN STEPHEN GATELY HAS PASSED AWAY SUDDENLY WHILST ON VACATION IN MAJORCA. EVEN THOUGH THE CAUSE OF DEATH IS STILL UNCLEAR, POLICE SAID THEY HAD NO REASON TO BELIEVE THE DEATH WAS RELATED TO ABUSE OF SUBSTANCES SUCH AS DRUGS OR ALCOHOL AND NO SUICIDE NOTE OR SIGNS OF VIOLENCE WERE LOCATED.

Stephen Gately, who was along with Ronan Keating one of the two lead singers in the boy band Boyzone, has suddenly passed away while enjoying a vacation in Majorca with his civil partner Andy Cowles. According to the official statement Stephen had gone out for drinks, returned to his accommodation and went to sleep normally, but never woke up.

Stephen Gately was a member of the boy band Boyzone who were considered a major pop band during the 1990’s. In the first 7 years of their existence, the band released 5 albums and signed off on 6 UK number 1 hit singles. After the break up Stephen worked on a solo singing career as well as a career on television and West End theater. The band recently got back together again. Stephen made worldwide headlines in 1999 when he admitted to be gay. He was the first member of a popular boy band to ever do so.

Gately's bandmates flew out to Majorca on 11 October 2009.[21][28] Louis Walsh is expected to join them soon. The surviving members of Boyzone, Keith Duffy, Mikey Graham, Ronan Keating and Shane Lynch, issued a joint statement: "We are completely devastated by the loss of our friend and brother, Stephen. We have shared such wonderful times together over the years and were all looking forward to sharing many more. Stephen was a beautiful person in both body and spirit. He lit up our lives and those of the many friends he had all over the world. Our love and sympathy go out to Andrew and Stephen's family. We love you and will miss you forever, Steo."  Stephen Gately was 33 years old. –B-

There seems to be a lot of young talent in the United Kingdom that can be traced back to other parts of the world. Photographer/art director duo Sandro & Maykson for example, who come originally from Brazil, but have Italian roots. Through Sandro & Maykson we came to know Marcello de Giuli, equally Brazilian (it is afterall a big country) and his partner, the North Italian Enrico. We featured Marcello in May of this year when we introduced him and Enrico and their business venture, but today we want to talk about something very different.

If you are a fervent surfer – Internet that is – you might be familiar with the weblog YVYMag. It is a stylish webzine, well layed out and well informed. It is also one of the brain child's of Marcello and Enrico. And if that is not enough, Marcello has also taken his first steps into the world of photography as the man behind the camera. You already know, if you read his first article here ion BeautifulMag, the goodlooking Brazilian has some experience as a model, so that comes in handy in this new career step.

Besides having shot his man Enrico, he has also become quite skilled in doing self portraits. And why not. He is sexy enough, has the experience of being a model and is certainly not the first who starts a career in photography by shooting himself. Today's portfolio is a combined selection of two series he shot last summer on Mykonos, against a backdrop of the famous Little Venice area and the iconic windmills of the Greek island. We particularly love the images with the bright colored truck, that really reflects Marcello’s Brazilian DNA. We happily welcome Marcello and Enrico as blogging partners, and hope to see more from Marcello's photographic talent in the near future. –B-

Barbra found the opportunity to work with Grammy-winning Canadian jazz artist Diana Krall as producer and accompanist, and she has helped achieve a fine balance between singer and backing arrangements. The album is sophisticated and subtle with sublime orchestrations, but of course we didn’t expect anything less from the singer who is been regarded upon to be one of the most commercially and critically successful female entertainers in modern entertainment history and one of the best-selling solo recording artists with more than 71 million albums sold in the US and 140 million albums sold worldwide.

Love Is The Answer was released on October 3rd and might very well become another number one album for the extra ordinary artist. If so, she would be the first one to have a number one album  in five consecutive decades. Barbra Streisand’s performance at the Village Vanguard, where she performed songs from her new album, as well as some of her most beloved classics such as The Way We Were and Evergreen, was a once in a lifetime event. Her last U.S. tour, in 2006, tour grossed more than $92 million, according to Billboard Boxscore, setting house gross records in 14 of the 16 arenas it played. –B-

Hyugo Kicks Ass

IT HAS BEEN SOME TIME SINCE WE PRESENTED YOU A REAL BRAZILIAN MAN, SO WITH THE FALLING OF THE LEAVES, WE THOUGHT IT WOULD BE NICE TO BRING SOME SEXINESS AND HOTNESS FROM THE SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE TO OUR DIGITAL PAGES. AND WHO EVER SAID THAT FOR REAL BRAZILIAN BEAUTY YOU ACTUALLY HAVE TO GO TO BRAZIL? WE FOUND IT MUCH CLOSER TO HOME, IN THE PERSON OF HYUGO.

Recently, 23 years old Hyugo was visiting Europe. Or to be more precise, he was visiting The Netherlands. The Netherlands is not such a big country, so when something happens there, it get’s noticed by many people. Specially by attention-paying photographers, when it comes to visiting exotic men. Gert Kist is such a photographer.

We all know Gert Kist from his impressive website and online portfolio Malemodel.nl, where he constantly proofs the The Netherlands truly are a melting pot of many cultures and races. Gert can look back at working with the most interesting and sexy male models Holland has to offer, and is on top of that not shy to add a visiting tourist to his gallery. Hyugo is no exception to this.  Sexy Hyugo is in fact besides a model, a well practiced kick boxer in his home country. Judging by these photos, specially that well practiced part is visible. Gert heard Hyugo would be visiting through another model and decided to contact him in order to set up a shoot. They met at Gert’s country side home in Vinkeveen, a place we already virtually visited with other sexy men. It was here where Gert and Hyugo shot for two full days, this series here being only a part of that cooperation.

Gert Kist had the privilege to not only shoot Hyugo in the studio and around the lake, but also managed to get him posing in the shower. We keep those images for a bit later. Sandro & Maykson's Perfect Prince

THE ANCIENT GREEKS VIEWED PERFECTION AS A REQUISITE FOR BEAUTY AND HIGH ART. THEY BELIEVED THAT PERFECTION WAS TO BE FOUND IN THE RIGHT PROPORTIONS AND IN A HARMONIOUS ARRANGEMENT OF PARTS. APPLY THIS TO BEAUTY AND YOU GET A VERY DIFFERENT PERCEPTION.

Perfection is a state of completeness and flawlessness. Since beauty is a very subjective thing, the perfect beauty means something different for everybody. But this doesn’t stop photographer duo Sandro & Maykson to look for it.

Some time ago, Sandro Mantovani and Maykson Busato started their quest in finding the ultimate beauty and while doing so they created a series of portraits of the most beautiful men they encountered on their way. These portraits are combined under the name The Prince. Recently Sandro & Maykson released their very first book, Enjoy, and since publishing a book is hard and time consuming work, they were forced to put their search on hold. But that pause is finished now. The artistic duo happily picked up where they left off and present us a new prince. Or as they say, The Perfect Prince.

His name is Dimitry. He is 22 years old and Russian from origin, but lives in London. This is also where this photoshoot took place. In East London to be precise, in an old factory. Someone once said that imperfection is the closest thing to perfection, but looking at Dimitry we are not quite sure if we can agree on that. Dimitry is with right The Perfect Prince but let’s all agree not to tell Sandro & Maykson. After all it is their goal to find the perfect beauty and the longer their quest is, the better it is for all of us. –B-
